    Urgent safety notice: siemens states that the high value deodor calibrator may have been incorrectly assigned to the previous cartridges, potentially causing a negative sodium dose in both the quality control (qc) result and patient samples. see the chart on the chart for the negative bias observed using patient samples. siemens also states that the bias increases when there are high values of analyte in the sample. it is not expected that sodium concentration may cause clinically significant changes in the treatment decisions of patients for hypernatremia.
